The Alabama Folk School hosted its first Irish gathering July 23-25, 2010. Henri's Notions (pictured) anchored the weekend with a beautiful performance Saturday night. From Friday evening until Sunday at lunch, student crafters and musicians enjoyed learning in the following classes: fiddle with Tom Morley, mandolin with Rick Cunningham, Ceili dance with Katie Cox, woodcarving with Dylan Goodson, chair caning with Gwen Chafin, and silkscreen printing with Melanie Barnes. Everyone asked the Folk School to repeat this event annually--so mark your calendars for July 22-24, 2011!

First Irish Weekend a Great Success!
